Dr. Ramonia Bledsoe serves as the Literacy Coach here at Oliver Middle School where she collaborates with the teachers to ensure that Comprehensive Literacy is taught to all students.
Dr. Bledsoe has an undergraduate degree in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University. She later received her Teacher Certification from Fisk University and her Master’s in Educational Administration from Trevecca Nazarene University. She received the principal licensure from the Tennessee Department of Education in January, 2003, and recently completed a doctorate degree in K-12 Leadership from Capella University (August 2008). She is in the process of having her dissertation published. In addition, she completed the Principal Leadership Academy of Nashville (PLAN) which is a collaborative of MNPS and Vanderbilt University in April, 2008. She aspires to become a principal in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. Prior to entering the field of education, she was a small business owner for twenty years.
She has taught 5th and 6th grade Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies here at Oliver Middle School. She taught 2nd grade at Cole Elementary school, 5th grade Reading and Language Arts at DuPont Hadley and Haynes Middle Schools, and 7th and 8th grade Reading at Jere Baxter Middle School.
She has served as grade level chairperson, Language Arts chairperson and Faculty Advisory Committee Co-chairperson. She has also served on the leadership team at several schools. One of Dr. Bledsoe’s cherished accomplishments is the implementation of the Women of Worth program at Oliver Middle School. WOW is an advocacy program designed to prepare young girls to be competent, courageous future leaders.

Teacher of the Year at Jere Baxter Middle School (2004-2005),
Who’s Who of American Teachers nominee, (2006).
Dr. Bledsoe is a member of the Nashville Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (NMAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She serves on the Sorority Executive Board as the chaplain and as a member of the scholarship committee.
