2 great Honors for the Oliver band Program;

The first honor is the Advanced Band’s being chosen to perform for the 2010 Tennessee Music Education Association Conference April 12th –15th. The band will be performing at the Tennessee Bandmasters Hall of Fame Concert for elementary, secondary and collegiate music educators from all over the state of Tennessee. The band will perform at the Nashville Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center on Friday April 16th.

The second honor is also for the Advanced Band. The Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors Project has named them a Commended Winner for 2009. All ensembles submitting recordings to the National Wind Band Honors Project are evaluated by a nationally recognized and respected panel of wind band experts. This year’s adjudicators were Jerry Junkin, conductor of the Dallas Wind Symphony; Don Wilcox, Director of Bands Emeritus of West Virginia University and James Keene, retired professor from the University of Illinois School of Music.
